Qinhuangdao Introduction

Great Wall looks like a taken off dragon, and the entrance where "the head of dragon" goes into the sea is Qinhuangdao.The name of Qinhuangdao comes from a literary quotation.In 215 years BC, China's first emperor,i.e., Qin Shihuang had ever been here when he went o­n a tour of inspections in the east of his empery, and he sent people go across the sea to look for celestial being. After that,she is named Qinhuangdao.
Qinhuangdao is located in the north-east of Hebei Province.Qinhuangdao abut o­n Bohai Sea to the nouth, o­n Yanshan to the North,on Liaoning to the east. Beijing and Tianjin lies in not a long distance away in the the West. Beidaihe, Shanhaiguan, Haigang are three county-level cities in Qinhuangdao.There are four counties,i.e., Changli, Lulong, Qinglong Manchu Autonomous County . The total area of Qinguangdao is about 7812.4 square kilometers, and the population is 2.76 million. Qinhuangdao is an emerging industrial city. Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs, machinery manufacturing, building materials are the four pillar industries in Qinhuangdao. More than 1,000 kinds of industrial products, of which more than 30 reached the international advanced level, more than 170 kinds of domestic reached the advanced level.

Aviation:
Qinhuangdao Shanhaiguan airport, which has flights to Shanghai, Nanjing, Dalian and Yantai, Taiyuan, Shijiazhuang every week,is 13 km away from the urban areas.
Railway:
There are four main railway station in Qinhuangdao, Qinhuangdao stations, Shanhaiguan stations, Beidaihe stations, Changli station. These stations covers almost the main tourist destination in Qinhuangdao.
Highway:
There are many coaches to the cities near Qinhuangdao. Highway: Shanhaiguan is o­nly 17 km away from Qinhuangdao, There are a lot of bus trips between the two cities, Bus NO.6 will bring you from Beidaihe railway station to  the Qinhuangdao o­ne. Shanhaiguan is 30 km away from Beidaihe, between the two places buses is out and home.
Taxi:
Taxi prices in Qinhuangdao city is relatively lower, with fares starting five yuan, so it is a very good means of transport tools.

Qinhuangdao Festivals

 It is a local customs to see Shadowgraph and phbbbbt drums in east of Hebei province ,especially Qinhuangdao and Tangshan. Shadowgraph is shadow play. People cut fur(usually fur of donkey) into all shapes ,such as human,animals,etc.And then when irradiated, shadows would appear o­nto the screen. In order to Performing story,the actors manipulated behind the scenes screen with their voices and background music, and some even has singing. Actors in Jidong area indited and played a lot of shadow play, for an example,the popular operas "five-sword", "the story of the monkey king”, "Qingyun Sword", etc.
